This new printing process looks close to Formlabs’ SLA process but apparently two orders of magnitude faster. It’s not a product yet and the price range is unknown making it hard to compare with existing printers.

The most affordable stereolithographic 3D printer ever is being manufactured right now and it looks like the first complete boxes have arrived at Formlabs. Can’t wait to see them expanding their market with this tinkerer’s dream tool.
Makerbot shows the Replicator 2x 3D printer at CES
The new printer is optimized for ABS, a better but more challenging solution for 3D printing. It also features 2 side-by-side extruders for multicolor prints, enclosed sides for a more stable cooling period and a higher quality build plate.
